Yalda arrived in Knoxville in 2022 with her husband and son, ready to start over.
In Afghanistan, she was a lawyer. In the U.S., she knew one thing: to rebuild her career, she needed English.
At the Center for English, Yalda began learning the language that would open new doors. Step by step, she gained confidence, not just for herself, but for her family.
Her son, who is deaf, once required interpreters for every medical appointment. Today, Yalda advocates for him in English.
